Six more names from the cryptoasset market have joined the Forbes 400 List recently. The ranking brings the most prominent billionaires on the planet, and the 2021 edition showed a relevant growth of billionaires who are part of companies in the crypto sector.

Until 2020, only Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen was on the Forbes 400 list. He was included into the ranking last year after reaching a net worth of US$ 2.7 billion.

Chris Larsen has been listed in the Forbes 400 ranking for the second year in a row. In 2021, the Ripple cofounder’s fortune was US$ 2.7 billion, and this year it increased to US$ 6 billion.

With the arrival of six new names in 2021, the Forbes 400 ranking now has seven billionaires active in the cryptoasset sector. In total, these entrepreneurs have an estimated fortune of US$ 55.1 billion.

 Market growth boosts ranking

The growth of the cryptoasset market was driven by the increase in the volume of institutional investments. At the same time, large companies in the sector announced that they would go public through the stock exchange.

In addition to Chris Larsen, the ranking features the names of Brian Armstrong and Jed McCaleb, co-founders of Coinbase. Recently, the exchange announced it was going public through the stock exchange in the United States.

Another duo listed on the Forbes 400 is twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, founders of the Gemini exchange. Famous in Silicon Valley, by May 2021, the two had accumulated a fortune of US$ 6 billion, including thousands of bitcoins.

Among all seven names listed in the Forbes 400 related to the crypto sector, FTX exchange CEO Sam Bankman-Fried is the name that occupies the top spot in the ranking.

With an estimated fortune of US$ 22.5 billion, Bankman-Fried alone accounts for almost half of the entire net worth of the seven crypto billionaires in the Forbes 400.
