One of the most popular social media, Twitter is also the ideal place to discuss matters about finance. According to a recent survey released by Valor Investe, the platform is the social media that most concentrates people interested in investment issues in Brazil.

In total, 58% of the platform’s users are interested in finance, according to Twitter Brazil’s Marketing Insights & Analytics team. Compared to other social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, for example, the number of users interested in the subject on Twitter is 6% higher.

Cryptoassets lead among hashtags

The study also analyzed the 100 most used hashtags in tweets in the finance category in 2021 in Brazil and found that the term cryptocurrencies was the preferred word for social media users.

The crypto market dominated Twitter, with more than 4 million messages about cryptoassets. According to the survey, about three out of every five tweets about finance in Brazil were directed to cryptocurrencies, or 62% of all hashtags.

Of all the tweets about cryptocurrencies in 2021, 50% were posted by users up to 24 years old.

The survey also found that the number of cryptoasset investors on Twitter is 40% higher than on other social media. Furthermore, around 53% of survey participants stated that digital currencies represent the future of online money, and 17% of respondents said they are ready to switch from banking to crypto-enabled wallets.
